You need to update your system to Service Pack 1, or 2

I also read up on something about installing drivers from a floppy and doing something before i install windows because of the sata

do i need to format and do this option or ?

This sounds like a formatting problem, not a driver or hardware one. What does Disk Management (control panel->admin tools->comp mgmt->disk mgmt) show about the drive? The "problem area" is at 130 gb, not 160. If you mistyped and it's 130, install or slipstream (google it) XP to SP2.

I have updated the computer to SP 2 but that did not resolve the problem
Hard drive shows 120 gb free and 7.89 gb used
