so i had to re-install a couple weeks ago when i changed my raid array.. 3 500gig in raid 0,.. and now it says 8gb ram 7.24gb usable.. i have asus M4a785TD-M EVO mobo, iv disabled onboard video completely, stared at bios settings for hours.. im out of ideas..

assuming you aren't on the latest BIOS... have you tried the latest BIOS? :p

what about going back to stock clocks and/or trying an xmp profile?

then there's always adding (or even removing) some more voltage somewhere to accommodate for the change in the board because you changed your raid array, try bumping random voltages starting with dram, vcore, vtt (do you even have vtt? i dont know, maybe an AMD cpu user can chime in here).

one more possibility, i don't see how you could have affected it, but sometimes a re-seat of the cpu works due to either too high/low bracket pressure or bent cpu pins (again, i dont know how you could have done these things)

POST with 1 stick of RAM in the primary slot (usually DIMM_0) and make sure all sticks come up with the proper recognized amount and timings.

Has it ever utilized the full 8GB? Beyond just recognizing.

Is this message in Windows or BIOS? Where does it show up in its' respective environment? (Derp! I just realized this was posted in Operating Systems. I'll leave the question in anyways.)

Is this a new motherboard replacement because an old one died? Were you using integrated or discrete RAID? Hardware or software RAID?
I'm failing to see what immediate relation your RAID array has with your RAM issue. I'm guessing it's superfluous information.

Please provide more details, skills with "remote viewing" and "telepathy" would be required otherwise.

it has utilized all 8 gig in the past .. i know due to having 6.5 gig being used by VMs windows/ various... In bios and cpuz it recognizes all the memory.. its just in windows .. computer/ properties..

oh and its not a new mobo.. i only had 2 drives in raid 0 and added a third.. its just the onboard raid.

start menu -> "msconfig" -> boot -> advanced options

You dont have a max memory set right?

when you start task manager and goto the performance tab, how much total memory does it report?

You can also boot to the windows 7 disc and select to do a "repair". Get to the repair environment and select command prompt.
type "taskmgr.exe" and check the performance tab there.

i have absolutely no idea why or how it happened but max memory was checked and set at 0.. unchecked.. problem solved..
