Windows Media Player problem please help

I've got this huge problem playing windows media player files online. (Video) I use MSN Explorer, (which is internet explorer with a different interface). Basically whenever i try to watch .wmv files or files that are associated with WMP are bugged, and i am unable to watch the videos. I play Quicktime videos perfectly fine, but windows media are broken. The same thing comes up in MSN Explorer, Internet Explorer, and Mozilla (and Mozilla Firefox) I've tried installing it, reinstalling it, updating it, uninstalling msn explorer, and everything, but no fix.

Heres a picture to describe my problem:

That happens on every website i try to watch videos on, and even on the little player that is built into MSN Explorer.

Note: i am able to watch the video when i download the videos to my computer, and use windows media player to play them. However, sometimes i cant download the video.

Please help...this is a really big problem.
 
Reinstall directx I have this happen when I remove old files, and accidentally remove an file named gator which really an file needed for directx and media player, but I forget and think it gator ware remove it and its reinstall time for directx.
 
how do i reinstall DirectX? Because, i cant uninstall it.

Is it ok to just install over the other install? (Go to directx website and get the file, and just install it?) or will that cause problems?
 
uninstall all your video codecs
download and install ACE Mega Codecs Pack 6.01 - Playback Mode only
