Windows Media Player & iPod

Hi all,
This is my first ever post so please bear with me

Lately I have been having trouble with iTunes on my Windows XP computer. Sometimes when I open it, it will wipe a huge amount of songs from my iTunes Library (doesn't delete them from hard-drive). For example, I currently have about 4700 Songs in iTunes but when I open it it leaves me with about 450. This is becoming increasingly annoying as I have to open my music folder everytime I access iTunes. So I was wondering...Can I use Windows Media Player to transfer songs onto my iPod's?

Not that I know of, it may be possible, but I have never heard of it being done.

There are alot of iTunes alternitaves available, such as Anapod Explorer, which is awesome, in my opinion.

As for a free alternitave, you should take a look at Ephpod, and you can use Winamp as well.
