To get an idea what I thought of ME....I would only install it on machines I built for people I didn't like.....for free just to make sure it got installed.

I didn't think Windows install CDs were bootable until Win2000

I seem to remember having to use a boot disk the many times I had to reinstall ME, that was many years ago though.

All Windows CD were bootable. It's just that older computers didn't have the capability to boot from CDROM drive until about when Win2000 was around. You had to boot from floppy so you could run MSCDEX.EXE and OAKCDROM.SYS or whatever CDROM driver you needed to get it working.
