Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
If I'm running windows xp, the drive is loud as hell, and makes an irratating high pitched clicking sound every few minutes. When I'm running linux, its completely silent. What's going on?
it probably has something to do with
1) linux is better
2) the portion of the hard drive which windows is on has physical errors or other stresses/flaws which cause the spinning head to make noises. aka your hard drive is most likely dying, atleast that chunk of the hard drive is.
run scandisk (start/programs/accessories/system tools/scandisk) on Standard with automatically fix errors checked
also, perhaps your swap file is being unduly accessed since you're using windows? look at the Unofficial Official Tweak Guide, and read Phoenix86's great advice.
I knew linux is better, but i didn't thinknot that better
Be careful though, the clicking sound (and resulting errors) could spread to the Linux partition. In the words of sigmend: Back up your data.
