Every once in a while, my sound card stops working. Going into Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices brings up a prompt saying that I can "enable" the audio device but I have to restart afterwards. It happens spontaneously from time to time and it gets bothersome.
Sound card is a Soundblaster Audigy, so naturally I'm suspicious it's a crappy driver issue, but I haven't ever heard of a driver spontaneously disabling not only itself, but Windows sound altogether.
It's not caused by restarts or anything because I never restart the computer. Running XP.
Any ideas?
thanks!
