So I'm trying to install WHS in a VirtualBox VM and everytime WHS is done copying files and the installer says setup is starting windows, I get this BSOD...

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm running Windows 7 x64 RC (7100).

as the BSOD shows, and a google result pulls up, the complaint from the system kernel is that it cannot read the boot device. Specifically, the error maps out to "INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE"

What is the HDD config of the VM? WHS is based on Server 2k3 R2, so your installation disk should be SCSI based, for maximum compatibility.

Thanks for the reply sabregen.

Yeah, before I posted the thread I googled the error code and found out it mean inaccessible boot device, but I didn't understand why it would say that because WHS formatted the virtual drive and files were able to be copied over.

For HDD's I tried SATA and SCSI (Lsilogic and Buslogic) modes and the same BSOD pops up.

EDIT: I'm trying out Virtual PC 2007... Lets see how it goes!

Could this have anything to do with ide native/ahci differences between the VB settings and WHS?
