Is there any way to check which users have specific folders open? I'm in a AD environment.

From the machine that would have potentially have the file open, run 'compmgmt.msc'. Exapnd shared folders and click the open files. Any remotely open files should be displayed.

From the machine that would have potentially have the file open, run 'compmgmt.msc'.
That can be done remotely, too. Most MMC snap-ins can connect to other machines for quicker management.
