This issue has perplexed me for quite some time. Whenever viewing full screen video such as in windows media player when watching 720p movies or even hulu, when i go to exit full screen windows crashes. At first I thought it was the memory so I did a memTest and all seems to be fine. I have tried reinstalling video drivers which doesn't seem to have helped.

Any idea on what else could cause this problem?

Heres my setup:
AMD Athlon Dual Core 4850e
Gigabyte MA78GM-S2H
4gb of RAM
ATI HD4850
LG Blu-Ray/HD-DVD combo drive
80gb boot + 500gb + 400gb hard drives
