A while back, Ice Czar made a thread full of command-line and MMC stuff for Windows administration, and a few others contributed and tossed in some suggestions. I also offerred to host the stuff on my own web space because I thought it was a great idea. After spending some time getting more links (of descriptions) to many of the command-line tools for adding to the easy-to-reach information in one spot, I finally put it all together into a post on my CMS. I figured I should make a post pointing to it for the people here who contributed to that older thread directly or who have given me more info to go on as time progressed. Also, I wanted to display one way the [H] forums have produced some really quality stuff for people who like to get to know more about the computers they're using. So, while I did the formatting and cross-checking and adding a little bit of copy to it, this page on my site is the result of the collaborative skill and effort of members of the [H]ard Forum. It's only right that the guys who made it happen get to see the fruits of the effort. :)

So without any further ado, I present Windows: Command-Line Baby Run.

This is only the first revision, by the way. If I or anyone else finds inconsistencies, new things to add, or even some more in-depth coverage, I'll be going back to add to it. I like the idea of the group effort here, and I think it's done more than I could have ever thought to do alone.

So thanks, guys. If there's anything you think should be in there, just let me know.

you should add mstsc into the list of programs: microsoft terminal services client, aka remote desktop.

Bookmarked!

One that I use frequently for taking quick notes that I didn't see there: notepad. Ya know, because workdpad is just way too complicated and takes too long to load... :p
