i uninstalled old video drivers from previous install from CD that came with the Asus 9600XT...was prompt to restart..so i did....and it now just boots up to a blank screen after the windows loading screen....i hear the windows startup sound..but blank screen...when i shut down by pressing the button on my case..i also hear the shut down sound...but still blank screen in between...i wanted to run Driver Cleaner 2 but Safe Mode also doesn't work....when i try to go into Safe Mode..it loads up all the drivers and stuff for it...but it automatically reboots...so im unable to go into Safe Mode to disable stuff and run Driver Cleaner 2....what is the matter this time? this is so messed up....left computer off for 30 minutes..and still same thing....im stumped.....

sorry man, vid card issues suck.

try to remove and replace the vid card.
if that doesnt work, put another (any) vid card in and reboot
if that doesnt work try and go to the last known good config
if that doesnt work, put in the win cd and hit repair on the install-its will drop default drivers on your jammie and put windows on anew without deleting data.

good luck.

yep...after all that..i just decided to fresh install Windows XP and it started working again...now its stable...but im unable to go to a simple site like www.yahoo.com...it just takes me to the "The page cannot be displayed" page....it even shows the yahoo page for a split second....then changes automatically to the "The page cannot be displayed" page....weird...not sure whats wrong there....
