Yep, just set the jumper to slave (unless your primary HD is jumpered as cable select, then do the same) and hook it up to the other connector on the primary HD's IDE cable.
Or you can buy an enclosure like I have, then when you get those files off of the dinosaur, you can wipe it clean and use it as an external HD.

Yes.
1 - You need to make sure that the hard drive jumpers are set properly (ie.master/slave).
2 - Also, you should check the boot priority in the bios to make sure your system doesn't boot the 98 drive.
3 - Next you might have to go into disk management and enable the drive. Left click 'My Computer' to find this option. click 'Manage', then 'Disk Management'
4 - Lastly dont forget to be carefull with xp. I think it only alows for 3 upgrades before you have to reactivate it ($$$). Again I'm not for certain on that one. If this is your first "upgrade" you should be fine. Anybody have the exacts on this?
