Windows 8 Problems

So I'm not sold on windows 8 yet....

I'm having two issues that seem like deal breakers to me.

First I can't remote desktop into my WHS 2011 anymore and I haven't changed any settings server side. The problem as far as I can tell is that I'm not prompted for a password like I should be... I type the name/IP in and it tries to connect and fails do to authentication. I was prompted for a password when I wanted to access my shares and that works perfectly.

Second I have two hard drives in my computer, a smaller SSD that I use to boot and have core applications installed on and a larger "old fashioned" hard drive for games, media, and whatever. Is there any way to change the default app install directory? I'm not too excited about running out of space on my SSD because I can't change something as simple as install path...
