Just got this a week ago. Been running great. I just installed GPUz to check out if I have ddr3/ddr5 memory. As soon as I ran GPUz the first time I got a windows error then my screen turned black. I let it sit there for a minute before rebooting it by holding the power button for 5 seconds.

I turned it back on, it shows the Lenovo splash screen then nothing else after that. I tried holding F8(unless windows 8 changed?) but I haven't had any luck. Pulled the battery too.

Eventually I turned it on, shut the lid and opened it back up and it shows a black/blank screen with a mouse cursor. I can't get the task manager to come up or anything.

What the hell is going on? Can't believe this a few hours before I leave for vacation

Corner case, but... Have you recently docked the machine or attached it to an external monitor? Just wondering if the OS or hardware is still trying to broadcast the video to an external source instead of the laptop's LCD screen.

alright guys. not sure WTF happened. i kept turning it on and off and FINALLY it came to the actually start screen(move arrows to edge of screen tutorial). no clue what caused this, i'm afraid to use GPUz so i uninstalled it.

all is well for now i believe.

i did not dock it or attach it to another monitor. i installed GPUz, it tried running it then windows threw an error and the computer rebooted.

will report if it comes back. thank you for the replies.
