• Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

I have a HTPC running Windows 7 Home Premium x64. From a Administrator account I created a new Standard account with a password. But when I tried to login to the new account I got the following error message: "This User Profile failed the logon. User Profile cannot be loaded". Following Microsoft's recommendation (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947215) I tried deleting the User account and creating a new one but the same problem occured. I also tried creating a new Standard user account without a password and again got the same error message. I am unfamiliar with editing the Registry and have heard you can really screw up your computer so I didn't try that fix.

Create a system restore point before editing the registry and you are relatively safe in the registry unless you do something really stupid, which is not likely to happen if you are following steps provided by Microsoft. Even better, a full hard drive image would give you something to restore if you did mess things up. Having a backup gives you the opportunity to learn and go nuts with trying stuff. I learned a lot by purposely trashing systems that I had a recovery plan for.

As for the problem you are having, I have never encountered it, so not much I can offer to help with it. Have you tested your RAM, and have you tried running the system file checker (SFC /SCANNOW) from an elevated command prompt)?
