I just got a new computer and started it up this morning without any problem. Installed a firewall and virus software. Rebooted with no problem. I then updated my Windows 7 Pro x64 and needed to reboot for that to take effect. When my computer trys to reboot, it freezes on a screen that says Preparing to configure windows, do not turn off your computer. I can't get past this. I have tried restarting multiple times. I tried getting in through safe mode, but that screen still comes up. Any ideas? I have the Windows 7 CD. Should I try to reinstall WIndows? Thanks for any help in advance.

Boot to the 7 CD, then click advanced options, then the repair option will be selectable. It will let you repair issues causing Windows to not boot.
