Windows 7 switching product keys

I have all my parts for the PC I am putting together, but didn't buy Windows 7 yet and plan to get it over the weekend or next week. I recently put Windows 7 on my wifes laptop. Can I use the product key to do the install, but don't activate and then when I purchase the new key I can change it? Is this even possible to do?

Don't enter any key. Then you'll have 30days to put in the key and activate.

With a simple command line function, you can rearm the OS a couple of times also, which will grant you additional 30 day periods.

You're given upto 120 days of trial time.

Even if you had your key already, there'd still be no reason to enter it during the setup. This gives you plenty of time to make sure Windows 7 is installed and working properly on your new system.
