Don't worry; if you reading this forum, odds are you'll never even see the starter edition. Besides -- it's nothing new. They've had hacked up versions like this for XP.

And it's time to give up bitching about multiple editions...it's always been that way... always going to be that way...

same thing was said about vista. there was going to be vista basic, limited amount of ram, resolution max was 1024x768, all kinds of stuff. to my knowledge they never actually released it.

for netbooks, low-power users, and kids, this would be just fine.
Obviously, we aren't gonna be using it but I could definitely see a market for it.

7 Starter is being made available for Netbooks. Not that many OEM's are likely to release it.
