Windows 7 Start menu search oddity

I have this strange annoyance with the Windows 7 start menu search. I live by that search, but once in a great while it will decide to highlight "See more results" by default instead of the first search result.

For example, I habitually tap the windows key, type in "steam" and press enter to launch steam when I need it, but sometimes it will put the default action on "See more results". Steam is just an example, it will do this randomly with other applications. See this screen shot:

Whats really frustrating about it is 99% of the time it will do it correctly as seen below:

It just likes to screw with me once in a great while to keep me on my toes I guess.

It does that to me if my mouse cursor happens to be resting over the start menu when I open it.

Interesting.. when I've noticed it I believe the mouse cursor is far away, but I'll make a note of it the next time I spot it.
