Windows 7 SP1

A coworker told me that his Win 7 computer gets stuck whenever an auto-update occurs. (Not sure if he has SP1 or not.) He just has to manually soft reboot his PC, and upon reboot, the update always complete as normal. I haven't had this problem (knock on wood). Just wondering if anyone else has.

My new thinkpad X220 did in fact come with SP-1. Now waiting for SP-2 ;)
That's cool.

It'll probably be a while before SP2 is out. I'm guessing 18-24 mos. out.

Both my fresh install of SP1 and my custom install of SP1 over the existing Win 7 on another PC have 6 GB in Winsxs. I don't know where your extra 4 GB is coming from. Here's a snip of mine so you can compare what files are so large:

Mine looks nearly identical to yours except it takes up 10GB. There are so many smaller folders in there. I did another SP1 update on this machine (I had restored back to pre-SP1), and the result is the same. SP1 update takes an additional 2 GB of disk space for me (after downloading an 87 MB patch file for SP1).
