Hi there, I just bought and installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and I am having issues with the sound.

My sound card broke a while back, but I had a USB headset, so it didn't really matter. I used to use it with Windows XP with no problems at all.

Now that I have installed Win7, I am experiencing poor performance with anything audio related. There are random clicks and pops while listening to music, playing games, and even when there are system sounds.

My headset is the Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000. I know it isn't broken because as I said, I was using it a few hours before I installed Win7 with no problems.

Full system specs:

ASUS M2N32 Sli-Deluxe Wireless edition
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ (AM2)
Maxtor 200GB Sata 1.5 HDD
4GB (4x1GB) Kingston DDR2 PC6400 RAM
Nvidia EVGA GeForce 8600GT 512MB 128 bit
Antec TruePower Quattro 850 PSU

I am going to borrow a PCI soundcard from a friend in a few days to see if it's just an issue with my USB ports, but until then, does anybody have any ideas? All of my drivers for everything are up to date.

If you can help, thanks!

-Matt
