I have a westinghouse lcd monitor capable of 1920x1200...

About 3 weeks ago, my computer stopped displaying this resolution, at this time I had vista installed... So, I decided to take the time to install windows 7 x64 because I figured, why not. Hoping that it was going to be resolved after I installed and updated drivers.

I have all the latest drivers I can have, one thing I noticed when looking through windows 7, is it just labels my monitor as a plug n play, but in vista it was labeled by the actual westinghouse product name.

I have searched the net for hours and hours looking for an answer but am not finding one. The highest it will aloow me to go is 1600x1200. I have installed windows 7 twice with no new results.

I'm pretty sure it's not my monitor. I am using vga, my dvi-hdmi cable died a while back.

Thanks in advance!

Get a new DVI cable. You're likely hitting a bandwidth limitation of HD15.

yup dvi cable, grab 6-12ft on ebay for 5-10 bucks shipped

That should also allow the computer to properly detect the monitor. My HTPC is connected to a 42" Vizio LCD, and it is properly detected without any drivers.
