Hello

When I first install my win 7 the audio did not work so I download the "Realtek HD" v2.40 update but after there was no sound, my MB is "GA-N680SLI-DQ6" and the audio chip is "Realtek ALC888 DD audio" so in the end I install the cd disk that came with the Mb to install my Realtek HD driver but it's old R6 for XP

In the Control Panel when clicking on "Realtek HD sound effect manger" I get this:

Warning
The audio driver on your system is not designed for windows vista please visit the website of your computer manufacturer.

I can't change anything in the sound manger not evening test my sound.

I download these files:
Vista_R220 (did not work)
Vista_Win7_R240_x86 (did not work)
motherboard_driver_audio_realtek_azalia (did not work) this came from Gigabyte web site.

Any help please?

You may need to contact Gigabyte customer support. My brother just upgraded his XP installation to Windows 7 and could not get the sound to work with Asus P5Q-E, after trying the drivers on the site that did not work he contacted Asus they sent him a different driver which worked which was not listed on the site. It is worth a shot.
