Windows 7 Loosing Shortcuts to Apps in Mapped Drive

Our shop floor application runs from the server with shortcuts on each user's desktop. The drive to the application folder on the server is mapped.

Two of my users keep loosing their shortcuts for this application. It is just these shortcuts to the mapped drive that disappear. Their other icons stay put. I've put these shortcuts back several times and they keep vanishing. The shortcuts on my computer do not vanish for some reason.

My users are getting super annoyed to come in and see that overnight, their shortcuts have left them. Anyone have any ideas?

It seems Windows 7 deemed those shortcuts to the mapped drives as unimportant. I disabled the Diagnosis task from the control panel and this seems to have done the trick.
