I recentlly replaced the hard drive in my hp g72 series laptop..well I had to order the reinstall cds to get up and going again. after a fresh install I went to get my windows updates and I get a error saying cant currently use the service because it is not running or somethin to that extent.so I manually stopped and started the windows update service and the bits sercvice as well and still no go..no windows update after fresh install of windows 7 home premium 64 bit.. thanks in advance
 
no sp1 integrated just a plain windows 7.. I down loaded sp1 and manually tried to install and it crashed during the install both times..comes back with some error code in hex format..
 
@ Saturnine2 updated my intel rapid storage driver and it started working.. must of been something to do with the advanced format drive I installed in it that they talk about on the link you provided saturnine2.. thanks..
