I recently installed Windows 7 64-Bit on my system and shortly after the manual fan speed control within Catalyst Control Center has stopped working. The fan speed is stuck at a constant 29% (which i didn't realize until i came back to my pc one day with the card overheating). I can move the manual fan slider to even 100% and the fan speed stays the same. Has anyone experienced a similar problem with Windows 7 and CCC?

Running 4850 with 9.12's.Just unlocked, moved slider to 60% and set.At 60% the fan became audible. Also have rivatuner running in background as backup.

Initially when I installed 9.12, the manual fan speed worked. It stopped working a day or two later (almost frying my card since the fan was stuck at a constant 29%). I am using Rivatuner now which worked perfectly, but would still like to get the problem with ATI CCC fixed. Are you running 32 or 64?

For what it's worth, 10.0 drivers, 4850 (saphire {trash} card), Win7 64pro.
No fan issues here, other than my fan had harmonic noise @50%, +-3% and it's all good.
Perhaps uninstall completely and reinstall?

having a problem with my 4850...
did a complete uninstall and reinstall (multiple times as I didn't realize I needed to do complete uninstalls and kept finding random ATI stuff hanging around) and after finally getting the new CCC to install, the newest drivers black screen my computer.

I just wanted the option to up the fan as the CCC that was originally installed doesn't seem to have a fan adjustment option. I've given up on the drivers and latest CCC (10.2?) and reverted back to the older version which is 8.7 or something and my computer is usable once again.

Is there another program that I can use to adjust the fan speed on the card? CCC is something that I apparently can't upgrade correctly since vista x64 doesn't seem to like them... unless I can just install the newer CCC w/o the newer drivers to get the fan adjustment option in overdrive.

Been contemplating just upgrading to Win7 (since that seems to be the easiest solution), but not sure of any VPN clients that work with Win7 64bit... I have one that works with Vista 64bit but havent tested it on Win7 64bit yet.

If anyone has any suggestions, that'd be great...whether on the fan adjustment option (prefer this, 80 degree celcius while doing nothing is not cool) or the VPN client option.

Thanks in advance!
