hi all i am trying to format my secondary sdd in order to use it in another pc as a primary

partition.jpg

i cannot format it though as the option is greyed out

also, it is tell me there are 103 of 110 GB free (its a samsung evo 950 120gb) .. so 8gb are being used by something.... even though the drive is empty

Disk D appears to be the only drive that contains your page file. Re-enable the page file on C and disable it on D and see if that fixes things for you.

There's no need to format the disk ahead of time. The operating system installer will handle that for you. After you move the page file back to C:\ and reboot your computer, do the following:

Open up cmd prompt, type DISKPART, then type SELECT DISK 1, then type CLEAN

That will completely wipe the drive and show it as "Unallocated Disk Space". Now install the SSD into the new PC and install the OS. If you are installing Windows, just click the unallocated space and press next. The OS will create partitions and format the drive for you.
