Hi folks,

I am still finding the smaller workings of Windows 7 somewhat annoying with as far as the documents folder goes. I am trying to point a "Documents" folder to the users network virtual drive that mounts from a login script I created. In WinXP, all i had to do was bring up the properties of the documents folder, point it to the network share and log off. I log back in and I get all my files sync'd.

Now with Win7, I no longer have that option. It says I have to add an indexed location to it. How does one do this? My google searches have come up with a few morsals, but nothing in stone.

Any help?

Thx, Anthony

In Win7 you go to C:\users\%username%\my documents and then you right click and go to properties and then to location.

You can then redirect the folder location to anywhere you want :) but you really only want to redirect it to the relevant network share on your server.

you could also just specify the location via group policy and then not touch the workstations at all . . .
