anyone figure out if there is a fix for Microsoft MCE remote and windows 7?

the back button doesnt work nor do the fast forward and rewind buttons

I tried media center 7, xbmc, and mediaportal.

Sorry, I think its your setup. My remotes work perfectly on my sig rig and Media Center on my tx2z tablet.

I've got 2 remotes that I've used on 4 different Win 7 systems, all work. All I did was plug them in.

Got three very different MS MCE remotes and all three work perfectly with Win7. It's your setup.

Got a Vista MCE remote and IR extender when I bought my Hauppage 1600MCE.

Works flawlessly with Win7 Ultimate RC1 with built in MS drivers.

Is your remote one of the older ones designed for XP MCE (i.e. square green button)? I seem to recall those had problems with Vista MCE early on...maybe its the same thing here?

it's this one. model 1039 RC6 ir

for those of you who have working remotes in win7 i have two questions.

Are you able to try them in mediaportal?

What model are you using?

Check and make sure you don't have Microsoft IntellType keyboard software installed. It breaks a lot of MCE remotes in win7.

Yup. That's the one I'm using. Works perfectly in Win7 but not that well in MP (but I always had to make a custom profile for it). Another suggestion: I loved using my 360 controller with MP! It was so awesome. :)
