Will A 64 bit Copy of Windows 7 run in virtual box running on windows vista home basic 32 bit?

I know it wont work on a 32 bit pc as virtual box uses the host cpu ( duh) but i have a 64 bit proc and for some reason its acting up

Great, it told me to acticvate HArdware Virtuilization, i couldnt find that ooption, but i enabled an option called secure virtual machines, and the Hardware virtual acceleration error doesnt pop up but i get a critical warning and it wont go any further? please help!

As i said i am unsure where ot find it i looked everywhere in my bios, any ideas? the mobo is an ASUS M4A88T-M, Pretty Sure Its American Megatrends Bios if that helps

On VMware with VT, this will work fine.

thanks dude, after using probably eveyr profanity in the book and making up a few along the way i got it figured out, now the copy of windows is scratched....thank god it was just a trial...

Most VM software won't support or allow 64-bit guests on 32-bit hosts due to the address limitations present in such hosts. (There are exceptions, such as bochs.)

I had went x64 for, in addition to the security and stability (primarily stability) reasons, to avoid this quirk, as I had started getting into using virtual machines as testbeds/training aids (I didn't even have support for hardware virtualization until I swapped my E1200 for the E3400 earlier this month). Now, with VT-x, I can run any OS that allows (legally) operation on emulated hardware (including Apple OS X Server - Apple's only OS that legally permits operation on emulated hardware).
