I have a home server running Windows 2003, I would like to do the following, is there a free solution to achieve this?

1. Put a modem in the server
2. Have it be able to send and receive faxes
3. When an email is received convert it to a PDF and email to me instead of printing
4. Have the ability to send PDF, DOC, TXT files through the fax software

Any help would be appreciated. I know this can be done with software like GFI but that isn't close to being free.

So what will I lose with the freeware version from GFI.

GFI will not work because I called the other day and they said that after the 30 day trial it just stops working. Is there anything free out there that will work well. I just need it for a few faxes here and there.

Go with RelayFax from ALT-N. I use it to answer faxes and email them to me, as well I can send an email to an account and it will fax the email with any attachment (PDF, DOC, XLS) to the number i put in the subject line.
