Hey Guys,

I was wondering if a P3 600 with 512MB of ram would be enough processing power to be a 2003 domain controller on a very small network (Less than 5 machines) ?

Thanks,

Novensu

Plenty for being a DC alone...

If you tack anything else on be sure to monitor performance with perfwiz.

That should be decent for a small network

Mines a Celly 800/256mb running AD, DNS, DHCP and IIS (Intranet only), File and Print sharing

mine is a p3 733 w/ 512mb pc133 ram. tyan tomcat board..

runnin domain controller, and dns. ftp and file sharing.....seems fast enough, tho when i browse the networek neighbrohood it takes a few secoinds for the folders and files to appear......it seemed faster on my amd 1.33ghz with 1gb ram, but meh who knows...im sure it was. but ewven still this should be fine for a file server
