ive got a print server shareing a printer
when i try and acess the printer i can but i have to enter a password everytime
after a reboot it forgets the password and i have to enter it again

im trying to use the printer for my entire family, and some of them arent too bright, i need to be able to connect to the printer automatically after each reboot so that it works with no passwords

i imagine i have to mess with the security settings on the pritner and the printserver

currently the print server is running as user:administrator
password: x

most of the other machines are set up in a similar fasion
user: administrator
password: xx

when someone wants to print it denies them access and says incorrect password or user
i imagine that user works fine but its getting the pass wrong due to the fact that its different on each machine

is there a way that i can allow any computer on the network to print from the printserver
ive tried useing the everyone profile
guest
iusr
and tonnes else but nothing works

help please

try adding the user names that are used on the computer sending the print job.

i.e. if billy is a user name, add it to the window's 2000 user list with the same password

problem is that all teh computers use the user name
administrator

but they all have different passwords....

i gotta change them all to different user names dont i?
whats the easiest way to make this change while keeping programs, desktop and all settings the same?

another thing is that on the print server (named tortise)

it will have users like TORTISE\administrator
so user administrator on computer tortise

can i somehow allow computer OFFICE
user administrator access on tortise?
so create permision for OFFICE\administrator which would be allowed a different password?

if this is possible how do i do it
