I purchased a used laptop off Craigslist and the owner said the current Windows 7 pro license was authentic. I've recently upgraded to Windows 10 pro but was wondering how long it would take (IF IT WEREN'T LEGIT) before windows 10 would notify me? It's been running Windows 10 for 2 weeks now and I haven't received any watermarks or alerts. Just curious

you must be good - if not you would have known that day lol

You can see if it is activated. If you go through the settings app, you will find it in there. I think if you press the start button and type Activation, it will bring it right up.

Do a search for "This Pc" -> Right click the icon -> Properties.
At the very bottom, it will say "Windows is activated" or ask you to update.

Another way to check activation

Open admin command prompt or powershell
Code:
cscript /h:cscript
slmgr /dlv

Thanks, so it sounds like you guys are all agreeing that if I don't see the watermark immediately, my copy of Windows 7 pro was legit and so is my upgrade to win 10 pro. Thanks
