windowed case louder?

Maybe a stupid question but I was wondering if a windowed side panel is going to lead to any increase in noise from my case?
 
Short answer: yes.

Long answer: Depends
If you build your new case with the proper sound dampening materials and with good quiet components, then noise should not be an issue.

Agreed, I am not 100% sure if acrylic or other plexi type materials dampen sound as well as metal sides.

I am however lining my window with insulation and using rubber washers for as many screws on my case as possible. Not only will this help reduce sound and vibration but it will also help my particular case get shock protection in the event of falling or being struck. It will have a slight ammount of shock absorbtion due to the vibration canceling of the rubber.

With all my fans on full it gets loud but most of the time I have fans running at 7v and I only really hear the hard drive and psu fan. I was wondering if at the 7v it would get louder with a side window basically. When fans are full on I am usually playing a game and in that case my vid card is so loud that it would not make a diff. I haven't done any sound proofing other than buying quiet fans + controller.
