Are there any vinyl window Decals that will tint the windows of a PC case with a gray tint and darken the lighting somewhat? pre cut to fit a corsair 800d case would be nice.

like these but transparent like sunglasses.

I did not think the LED fans I bought would be so bright but I sit next to the PC on the window side and I just want to darken the window a little. they look good until you sit next to them for a few hours then they get annoying.,

Why not just go to the auto store and get some diy tint. An actual tinting shop will prob have more options but may cost more.

I don't know if you will find a pattern tint like the carbon fiber you show in pic1 and 2.

For pic3, get a 35% or higher if you want to still see in. :)

Sorry, I'm not sure the size of the window, but you could prob get a nice look with one of these

Was thinking too. If you can swap the window completely, a tinted acryli sheet from a hardware store may work? When I had orderd some mirrord a few years ago, they did have a smoke sheet (built in tint). I'm not sure if they have them in stock for your size though. Ordering may not be worth it.

Good Luck,

I would not use automotive window tint, it is not designed to adhere correctly to acrylic/plexiglass. It will eventually lift and peel, especially if heated (eg, head of the gfx card or cpu cooler).

That headlight film that was mentioned in the post above is more related to a vinyl sticker than it is to an actual window tint. It will have a better time sticking and staying stuck to the side panel window. Although the best option would be to take the 800D window down to a plastic shop and have them cut and drill and matching piece in smoked acrylic. I use a place called Kel-Tech Plastics.

if I could find a place by me that does stuff like that I would have them do it. and also car paint the case in chemelion paint since I don't have those tools

for cheep.

biut I wanted to paint it before I installed eveything. the door is easy to take off and go somewhere. no idea where. to even go for that

I got the carbon fiber decal on my case already if you put them on right it looks like the real thing.

I did not think glass tint would stick to plastic so I was looking for non glass options.

What is your budget?

http://www.eplastics.com/Colored_Plexiglass_Acrylic_Sheet_Transparent

About $40 for colored acrylic, including smoke. They offer cutting too. Not sure if or how much that may change the price though.

Years ago now. My friend had replaced a car window with a sheet of acrylic and tinted it automotive tint without issue. I didn't think of the heat issue, but our windows sit out in the the direct sun/heat daily. Guessing because its more a directed heat from the card/s that would cause possible peeling.

24"x78" tint for $16 from an auto store, it may be worth trying imo depending what a shop might want for a replacement sheet.

Something like this might be the simplest way to tint the side panel. This company also makes other translucent colors but Smoke is probably best for darkening. There are other brands and types. Also hobby shops and auto parts store/custom shops might have something to use. Films don't work so well with polycarbonates/acrylics.

As for the chameleon paint, is this the type of thing you are thinking about?

This company also has a window tint spray under Aerosols/Candy Colors.

Ya some color shifting paint like that. I thought about it,. I found some that comes in spray cans But I suck at spraying paint on things so I decided not too do it. I would have to dismantle the machine now and i need it for work./

And i don't know how good the spay can version is,. the other kinds are for spray guns and i don't have one.. I have a older custom case that was painted in a powercoat at the factory and I like it a lot it is like car paint.

The 800d factory paint kinda sucks and it looks like it is easy to scratch it has no clear coat or anything.

I might try that spray on tint but I suck at getting a even coat and not spraying things I do not want to be sprayed even if it is covered.

budget is low. and something quick and easy to do would be nice.

The smoked window tordogs linked would prbobably be the easiest solution for you.

The spray tint is ok, but it is very hard to get a good even coat that's not splotchy. When I want to spray tint something, I use clear coat with a bit of black/charcoal paint mixed in. With a decent paint gun you can get a nice even coat. Sprays cans....not so much.

I checked and I can buy smoked translucent vinyl, but it's kind of pricey. My vendor does not offer small sheets either, only larger rolls. If I had more uses for it, I would buy a roll and hook you up.
You could check with some of your local sign shops, and see if they have any and would sale you a piece. You could probably pick up a peice for $5-$10
