Window SMP error?

I am run Window SMP but when I finished a WU last night, i turned my laptop off. Whe I got up, I turned it back on and plugged it into the network to send the finnished WU, but it said MISSING_WORK_FILES and said it was starting over. ??? I waited untill it finnished the WU and all 4 cores shut down before I hit CTRL-C to turn off the FAH.exe window...why did it delete before it turned the WU in?
 
The only thing which explain the MISSING_WORK_FILES is corrupted work files. If some of these files get corrupted and cannot be retrieved, it will spit this error and delete before getting a new WU. ConIt is also possible that when it's done but before it's being sent, it delete a few files but the beta SMP core didn't know how to handle it properly due to the current BETA status.

You should have let it send the results before closing down, which is taking a few mins only unless you get faced with a non-working server...

 
I wasnt at work. I let it run all the time, when it finnished, I turned that laptop off and went to bed awhile later. When I got in to work, I turned it on and plugged it into the network to send the file. I won't have internet at my house for another week, they have to mail me a modem. The one I had at home wont work in this country. :(

I see now... That's one of the woes of using beta software :( This has happened to me 2x but managed to retrieve it once because I had a copy of the SMP folder on the usb key with a WU waiting to be sent.
 
WIN SMP is a real pain in this. Basically when the client shuts down under normal conditions, CTRL-C, it writes bogas info and kills itself on startup. Also, ending task on the threads (mpi too) sometimes works, sometimes not. It's a crap shoot closing the WIN SMP client frankly. Was to be fixed in the last beta release, not 100% sure if it was.

Also, disconnecting the LAN port (loosing all IP's on the box) will cause the client to kill itself.
 
oh well. I'm to have a 6meg DSL installed. That will be nice my old modem was only 128k, so i'm happy about that. this folding iedad is neat. I hope they find something good.

rally it is. I cannot fold on my e520 yet because of not on the internet, and my HP Craptop is an t2500 that takes two days to do the SMP. so I wish it had finnished at work instead of waiting when I was home. I may just leav it at work locked in a desk drawer untill I get on internet at home.
 
ceci ne travaille pas correcte! it just says it has the comminucation error with the core. I think I will putt two regular clients on instead.

For your issues, I believe it has to do with a bad installation of the client. Rerun Install.bat then restart the client to see if it works fine.

 
Oiu, when i am...what is word for irrité? ...not happens the way i want i say things out en francais. anysides, i am going to my english class now, i will try again when i get back.
