Window panels and RF pollution

I was wondering how, or if, these cases with clear plastic side panels meet the specs on radio frequency emissions. In the old days, any plastic case panels were coated with a metallic coating inside.

If they do leak, do you ever have interference problems?

There's a good chance that computers in acrylic/lexan/plexiglass cases aren't quite FCC-approved, I've never heard of anyone running into stability problems (computer adversely affected by EMI) or interference caused by the computer.

That might've been your microwave, not your compy. LOL

I would imagine that you would worry about are if your plexi-cased computer is interfering with your TV, radio, and phones. If yours isn't, then you're cool.

Having tested a prototype for CE standards you'd be surprised just how affective plastic is at filtering things out is.

In short I would not worry about it.

All products for sale in the EU have to pass this standard which not only records/test output, but also how items survive outside interference. If the TV was affected by your computer either the computer is very very badly made or the TV is.

I have an all acrylic case and have it running nearly 24/7.. zero problems, and I even have my wireless g router sitting 6 inches away.

Also remember most parts inside are shielded (like HDDs, Optical Drives, etc.)
