i've got this black rubber molding for my window, and it's being a major pain. it's got the two notches for the case and window, and a third in the middle for a rubber locking strip. the problem is, no matter what we try to put it on first, the case or the window, it won't stay flat and attatched to it, and therefore we can't get the window all the way in without part of it falling off and the window eventually shifting. is there some secret to this, or has anybody figured out any helpful tricks?

It takes 2 people whenever I do it... its hard, but heres a hint - use a wet butter knife to work the window in the stripping after its in the window, then the locking strip, its much easier.

the sizes aren't the problem. i was told to get the modling on the case first, then insert the window. the problem is, the molding won't stay on the case .. it twists and falls off. same thing if i try to put it on the window first.

and the butter knife suggestion just baffles me. i'm very open to any ideas, i just don't get what you're saying to do, i'm sorry.

Water or alchohol for a bit of lube on the groove for the locking strip (optional). Don't have the seam on the locking strip at the same place as the seam on the moulding. Use a PCI slot cover - the thinner tip at the bottom - inserted in the moulding and turned slightly to open up the channel to allow easy insertion of the locking strip. If the locking strip does not seat fully, use the tip of the slot cover once again to properly seat any out of place areas.
