Win8 email

I just got my mom a new machine and it has win8 (no choice) How the hack do I get her set up for emails? She doe not have a microsoft account and every past win version I have just setup her pop3 info and she was off and running. How do I get a normal pop3 account running?

Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail.

Remove the default Metro app and install whatever program she normally uses.

Live mail did the trick, didnot relieze it would work on win8. Thanks.
