I just built my new rig two days ago. I've been using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit SP1. I had not problems until I did all of the system updates. Ten minutes in and I'd receive random 0x0000000000000F reference errors, "Explorer.exe has encountered a problem" whether I'm on Firefox or just opening my saved pictures. Sometimes the system would hang forcing me to do a hard reset. After I hit the switch, Windows 7 would fail to boot up (Non-system disk error, please press ctrl-alt-del to reboot) unless I try 15 more times or wait 20 hours .

I'm not doing any OC or extensive GPU and my build is as follows:
Intel Core i5-2500k + MSI P67A-G43
G.Skill Ripjaws F3-10666CL9D-8GBRL 2 x 4GB DDR3 1333 RAM
XFX HD-695X-ZNFC Radeon HD 6950 1GB PCI-E Video Card
Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1CCA 2.5" 64GB SSD
Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive
Samsung SH-S222AB SATA DVD Burner
Corsair 650TX V2 650W PSU
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit OEM
Asus VE248H Black 24" Widescreen LED Monitor
Cooler Master HAF 922 RC-922M-KKN1-GP ATX Case

20 hours was an overexageration obviously :D but still can't figure it out. Been trying a day and a half now. I'm thinking about reinstalling windows and just not updating and seeing what happens

Yeah this smells of failing hardware. The samsung HD specifically is my guess, run the Samsung HD test and memtest because memory is another possibility. Maybe the hard drive is getting too hot?

I did memtest86+ for 12hours 15 passes. No problems. Even ran the windows memory diagnostic. I am also doing a lot with my HDD and SSD because now I can't even format them to reinstall Win7.. Getting very frustrated. I finally got them to format using cmd prompt and an alternative way of doing it, but then I get a different error saying how Windows can't obtain reqd files. Someone told me to check if my BIOS did something with OC on it's own. My first experience building a computer in 6 years has not been good so far :(
I am just afraid of ruining the HDD and SSD (especially the SSD because it was $150)

I have had problems with the Spinpoint F3's, did you run the HD diagnostic? Next thing it sounds like your motherboard might be bad, specifically the hard drive channels if you were able to run memtest fine.
