Win10 update fail

My system has been unable to update Win10 for over a year now. It goes through the steps but fails ever time. Any suggestions on how to figure out why?
 
open power shell/cmd and type: net stop wuauserv
then got to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and delete everything there.
reboot and try updating again.
 
Sometimes you can goto the Microsoft Store and run the updates they have there then go back to Windows Update and see if they will go through.
 
Since MS update this morning, my Firefox is potatoed... constantly crashing - anyone else having this problem?
 
Someone updated (FF or W10) because after at least 6 hard reboots and manually reloading MS updates and reinstalling FF... things are stable again
