Hi All,
In trying to enforce stricter delineation between data on my system I've created a file permission issue for myself that I seem unable to reverse. Of course, this is caused by the fact that permissions and privilege don't work the same under windows as with Unix system.
In summary, I've set a bunch of deny permissions on some important directories for all users thinking that I, as an administrator would still get access. How wrong I was. Booting into Safe Mode as Administrator still doesn't allow me to reverse or slacken of the perms. So right now, these directories are inaccessible - a little more secure than I was hoping for
Can someone explain to me how I can get superuser access to these settings so that I can reverse them? It would appear that the Admin account is not a true superuser account.
All help warmly received.
Regards,
Dave
