Win XP Pro Admin login screen pops up at the beginning

I have XP Pro running since Dec. 2004. I never have that annoying Admin. login screen until the other day. I didn't touch anything, somehow it shows up.

I know there is a way to get rid of it, anyone has any idea how?

I'm guessing you mean the welcome screen? It probably popped up because you installed .Net Framework recently, perhaps?

Great guess. I installed Encarta. If I uninstall it, can I undo the welcome screen?

Open User Accounts in Control Panel. > Click Change the way users log on or off.


To specify that users log on to the computer without using the Welcome screen, clear the Use the Welcome screen check box.

if you get an error stating some .dll file won't let you change it.. google that .dll file see what it goes to, and remove that program.
