Just got a new Shuttle XPC and i installed all the components just fine and got to the part to reformat the 100gb sata drive. No probs, but when it goes to reboot after copying the files, windows xp doesn't recognize the next part and ask me do i want to install xp? i know it's been atleast two years since i did one of these, but come on....

Oh man, I remember that problem. I think I spent an entire weekend one time just getting XP installed on a client's machine. I don't remember the fix, I just kept trying until it took effect.

When it reboots after copying the files, take the install CD out of the drive until it boots into the next part of the installer.

I will try that on Saturday night, i'm off Sunday, so i can deal with the downloads and upgrades then, i will keep in touch. Thanks for the info!

yep that seemed to do the trick, switch the hd to #1 and dvd to #2 and then back after winxp was done, thanks to all

You can leave the HDD as #1, its a slightly faster bootup sequence. F12 for a boot menu selection works fine on the rare occasion you need to reinstall.
