Win XP 64Bit won't activate, it gives me an error with that no-connection found shit, all firewalls disabled, and direct connection to modem. I don't mind activating and registering, just trying to get something done before this activation thing is up, and i don't really want to call anyone.(meaning the telephone a microsoft rep thing)
 
have you ever called them before? its not very painful. it only takes 5 minutes. even less if the automated system works (which didn't for me).
 
Is it a legal copy? Downloading from IRC != legal, so don't try activating it.
 
just call them. It's all automated. All it does is ask you a couple stupid questions and then you read your code to their system, and it will read a code back to you to activate it.

you shouldn't have to talk to anyone. Their system is pretty intuitive and accurate.
 
Well after all this, I guess I will call it, yes it was legal, why wouldnt i get a legal one, it was free.
