Win 8.1 speaker not working

Upgraded to Windows 8.1 and my rear right speaker stopped working.

Supermicro X8SAX
Realtek ALC883

I have made sure it is not a hardware issue by switching the speaker cords and testing.

I am sure it is a driver issue but I am at a loss how to fix.

I have tried the Win 8.1 default, Realtek R2.71 and R2.72 x64.

All had the same effect .. any suggestions
