Win 7 RC issues?

I upgraded my 2nd PC from Windows 7 beta to Windows 7 RC a couple days ago. At that time I also went from a ati 4870 to a Nvidia 9600 GSO. I uninstalled drivers correctly and uninstalled/installed F@H like it says on various sites, yet when i start it, I get an error and it doesnt run

Can you post the fahlog.txt or a screenshot of the error?

Did you delete the work folder and a few other files (can't name them as I'm not running GPU2 on the laptop I am writing this on).

Same here...Running WIN 7 RC 64bit with a GTX 260 using the NVidia drivers that came via Windows Update, and have had no issues at all. I decided to run the graphical GPU version (I usually use the console client) and it's worked flawlessly.

Did you use something like Driver Cleaner to make sure you had all the residual ATI stuff off before you installed the NVidia drivers?

yeah i did driver cleaner n the such. I uninstalled F@H but i didnt go in a delete anythign specific. What do i need to delete?

go into your applications data folder and make sure none of the ATI stuff is there.. also in your main F@H gpu folder delete anything that says ATI.. even though you uninstalled it.. the folder stays there..

I was having a problem similar to that after I switch from an ATI card to a nVidia card. F@H was still trying to process the ATI core (and failing). I went into the folding@home folder in appdata and deleted the fahcore and work files. I started the clients back up and it replaced those files with ones for the nVidia card. Careful though, it you're worried about deleting the wrong thing just re-name it and if it explodes undo the re-name.
It's been about a week since I switched cards and since fixing it I haven't had any problems.

i cant find the folder u guys are talking about in win 7. find it fine on vista

I was using Vista when I had these problems so that's why I used those folders. I guess I assumed it would be the same in Win7 but who knows. Did you change the settings in explorer to show you all folders? Either way, if you can find the folder where f@h stores all its data then it should still work.

C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData

it is hidden, but if you open C:Users\XXXXX and then edit the address to add the \AppData it will appear before your eyes
