Win 7 Pro going from Intel to AMD

Is it possible to go from an intel chipset to an AMD chipset without having to do a clean install?

it's possible but your windows key might need a reset because they are locked to the intel motherboard.

You could have little problems that may arize. I vote go clean install.

a repair install might work, but be prepared...

It's not even recommended to keep your OS when switching mobos of the same platform.

Thanks guys. I think i'm just gonna back up everything then do a full install.

I'm not sure you can do a clean install unless you have retail version of windows.
